The defender looked extremely rusty and was targeted time and again in what was an almost cruel targeting of the summer signing Chris Smalling – 5 – The gangly defender was pulled out of position at times but it was more because of his teammates. Looked ill at ease at the heart of the United defence 14 14 14 Antonio Valencia – 5 – Was subjected to criticism by his manager for not being positive enough on the ball. The fullback was reluctant to attack and struggled to deal with a lively Etienne attack SUB – Marcus Rashford – 7 – An extremely impressive 20 minute cameo appearance from the youngster. Brilliantly created space for himself before teeing up Ibrahimovic for his second goal of the night 14 Marouane Fellaini – 4 – The awkward midfielder was taken off at the interval after an ineffective performance. His lack of technique stands out on the European stage 14 14 14 Daley Blind – 4 – Endured one of his worst games of the season. Was a major part of United’s unconvincing defensive display and looked off the pace all night Sergio Romero – 6 – Survived a few scary moments and managed to save United on a number of occasions.
