About the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your say Liverpool boss Klopp: Leicester will end season in top fourby Paul Vegas18 days agoSend to a friendShare the loveLiverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists victory against Leicester was well-deserved as they snatched a 2-1 win at Anfield. The Reds were handed a controversial spot-kick deep into stoppage time when Marc Albrighton was adjudged to have brought down Sadio Mane.James Milner calmly slotted home the winner in a result Klopp admits already feels like a huge moment in their season.Klopp told Liverpool’s official website : “So, if you score in the 95th minute with a penalty everybody would say that’s lucky but over the full game we had more chances, we were the better team, so I’m really happy about that.“This one [win] alone feels already big enough, to be honest, because of how difficult this league is [and] how difficult the life of an LFC player is.“I think Leicester at the end of the season will be in the top four and then they will realise how different it is when you play Wednesday, Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday. The quality they have is already good and we all know Brendan, what a sensational manager he is and what he’s doing with them.”

I have got nothing to add to what has already been said about Pep Guardiola, not just as a coach but as a human being.”He made a really nice gesture towards me and I can’t forget that. This makes this occasion even more poignant.”When I was sacked by Inter he called me and invited me to go to Barcelona to see them. Last week, Ohio State senior quarterback Braxton Miller posted a photo on Instagram that was believed by some to possibly be an NCAA violation. Miller, a rep for Authentik Fitness, promoted the nutritional products in the photo and listed his email as a point of contact for potential buyers. Under NCAA bylaws, student-athletes are not allowed to use their likeness to help companies profit. According to Urban Meyer, though, “everything is fine” and there is “no issue.” Urban Meyer answers @CantonRepdotcom ? About Braxton Miller NCAA endorsement issue “everything is fine. Will Miller be the man behind center?
Jim Harbaugh fake Twitter followers have some college football fans very suspicious.Ohio State and Michigan have each established themselves as top college football programs this season. The two programs are led by two of the brightest stars in the coaching ranks in Urban Meyer and Jim Harbaugh, respectively. Last night, Meyer hit the one million follower mark on Twitter, a pretty impressive social media milestone. The BEST fans in the land!! Thank you Buckeye Nation! Follow @OhioStateFB too! https://t.co/w6NN39yOh6— Urban Meyer (@OSUCoachMeyer) October 3, 2016According to Eleven Warriors, Meyer was the first coach to hit the million mark. The man with the second-most followers? Harbaugh. Over night, he managed to eclipse the same milestone. The RedditCFB Twitter account checked out the new followers for the head Michigan Man, and found a lot of anonymous egg accounts.Hmm… Urban Meyer hit 1 million followers yesterday and Jim Harbaugh mysteriously gained 5,000 egg followers overnight to match that… ? pic.twitter.com/9JPffzu4Lz— RedditCFB (@RedditCFB) October 3, 2016One YouTube user also noticed the flood of new followers to Harbaugh’s account, and began recording his screen as he refreshed Harbaugh’s follower page.Anyone on Twitter is going to get his or her fair share of fake Twitter followers, but over 5,000 in one night does seem a bit suspicious. It seems a bit fishy that Harbaugh, or someone with access to his account, would go out of the way to game the system in order to keep pace with Meyer, but if anyone in the sport exemplifies that attitude that “everything is recruiting,” it is Harbaugh.

Real Madrid’s Marcelo says that he would welcome national team-mate Neymar to the Spanish capital as rumours continue to swirl about the winger’s unhappiness in Paris.Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in 2017, but the Brazil star has been linked with a move away from the club all summer.Madrid have already made some big signings of their own, having added Eder Militao, Luka Jovic and Ferland Mendy this window. Madrid have to do everything to sign the best players in the world and his past at Barcelona would not be a problem.”

McNair died Wednesday after being hospitalized following a team workout on May 29.McNair underwent a liver transplant while he was hospitalized and was “fighting for his life” according to a GoFundMe set up by his family. Tragically, he passed away.Maryland held a press conference this afternoon to discuss the circumstances surrounding McNair’s death. The university is conducting a review, and it is still ongoing.According to Maryland Executive AD Damon Evans, McNair participated in a supervised team workout which included a “baseline conditioning activity” that consisted of 10 110s (110-yard sprints). McNair completed the workout, but trainers noticed he was having difficulty recovering, at which point Evans said they began supporting active recovery.McNair was then transferred to the training room for additional care and 911 was dialed.Maryland gives this timeline of May 29: Players have a scheduled supervised workout at 4:15pm, trainers notice that Jordan McNair was having difficulty recovering, call 911, transported to hospital around 6pm.— Nicole Auerbach (@NicoleAuerbach) June 14, 2018Quick news conference at Maryland is over. (Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images)We had a major college football coach firing today, with Louisville announcing that Bobby Petrino was out as the Cardinals’ head coach.Another major college football coach appears to be on the hot seat, too.USC fell to 5-5 on the season with a home loss to Cal on Saturday night. Is Clay Helton looking for work if this materializes?— Ryan D Leaf (@RyanDLeaf) November 11, 2018Stay tuned.
You can fire up the coaching carousel again today. Louisville has fired Bobby Petrino in the midst of a nightmare season.Just two years ago, the Cardinals cracked the top 10 and had the Heisman Trophy winner in Lamar Jackson. Now, they are 2-8 and have been playing progressively worse as the season has unfolded. With Petrino out of the picture, you don’t need any fancy coaching hot boards to figure out who Louisville will target to replace him. There is one obvious answer: Purdue’s Jeff Brohm.ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit agrees. He named Brohm the No. 1 candidate a short time ago on Twitter.1st name obviously to come up will be former Louisville QB and current Purdue Head Coach Jeff Brohm. https://t.co/4Ex85qtkkc— Kirk Herbstreit (@KirkHerbstreit) November 11, 2018Brohm is an obvious candidate for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, he is a Louisville alum, having starred for the Cards in the early 1990s before a seven-year NFL career.Secondly, Brohm has a winning track record at Western Kentucky and Purdue. He is 42-21 in four-plus seasons as a head coach, and if the Boilermakers win one of their last two games, he’ll have reached a bowl in each of his first five campaigns.Brohm is also known as an offensive innovator, and you can see that in the way he turned around Purdue almost immediately. The Boilermakers used Brohm’s explosive and creative attack to throttle Ohio State in a massive upset earlier this season.Of course, there’s no guarantee that Louisville will hire Brohm. But the odds seem pretty good right now that they get it done.
ATHENS, GA – SEPTEMBER 29: DAndre Swift #7 of the Georgia Bulldogs carries the ball against the Tennessee Volunteers on September 29, 2018 at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia. (Photo by Scott Cunningham/Getty Images)Georgia took down UMass this past Saturday, moving to 10-1 on the season. The Bulldogs now have two huge games coming up – and they’ll need to win both to wind up in the playoff.First up is in-state rival Georgia Tech, which has won seven games on the season. After that, the Bulldogs get their crack at Alabama in the SEC title game. Two wins would land Georgia in either the Cotton Bowl or the Orange Bowl – the two national semifinal games in the College Football Playoff this year.ESPN’s two bowl projection analysts – Kyle Bonagura and Mitch Sherman – don’t see it working out that way. Both have the Bulldogs in a New Year’s Six game, however.Bonagura and Sherman both project Georgia to the Allstate Sugar Bowl – taking on Oklahoma. That game is on New Year’s Day at 8:45 PM ET.Georgia fans wouldn’t need to travel too far – the game would be in the Superdome in New Orleans. But obviously, fans want more.Georgia, last season, came within a few plays of taking down Alabama in the national title game. This year, they have a shot to possibly knock them out of the event before it even gets started.

As soon as Pakistan crumbled to one of their worst defeats vs India in the tournament, the team’s fans wasted no time in pointing out the player’s outing as the chief reason for the loss.Another image doing the rounds on social media showed Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed yawning on the field during the match – and the picture superimposed on to a pillow on a bed.But Harbhajan Singh came to Pakistan team’s defence and said that players are allowed to eat whatever they want and their diet should not be blamed for their performance on the field.”They are allowed to have burgers, it’s their wish what they want to do,” Harbhajan Singh told India Today.Former Australia captain Michael Clarke also joined in on the issue surrounding the social media jokes on the Pakistan team.”At the end of the day you put in the work and you get the rewards. If you don’t then you don’t get the rewards. Pakistan has to look at why they are underperforming in this World Cup. Whatever the reason, whether it’s training or the right squad, preparation.advertisement”At the moment they are not playing well enough. They are a better team than how they are playing,” Clarke told India Today. Some people also trolled Shoaib Malik and his wife, Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza, after they were seen hanging out with Wahab Riaz and Imam-ul-Haq late at night before the big match. Pakistan Cricket Board however, clarified on Monday that no player had violated the curfew timings set by the team management.”I don’t know if it’s true, but if there are pictures doing the rounds then it’s not the right thing to do before the game. Specially a World Cup game against India. I hope it’s not true,” Harbhajan said. The defeat left Pakistan ninth in the 10-team standings with just three points from five matches. Their only win at the tournament came against hosts England while their match against Sri Lanka was washed out.Pakistan must win all four of their remaining group games to have any chance of reaching the World Cup semi-finals. They face South Africa at Lord’s on Sunday before taking on New Zealand, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.Harbhajan was asked whether Sarfaraz Ahmed would lose his captaincy after this performance to which he said Pakistan need to start winning from here on otherwise drastic measures will have to be taken.”I hope they start winning from here onwards. But if they don’t get forward and don’t get into the semis…I know the emotions with India and Pakistan, I think he’ll lose his job. That’s what happens in India and Pakistan, when you lose a couple of guys have to go,” Harbhajan said. When the same question was asked to Clarke he said, “I don’t follow Pakistan cricket close enough to be in a position to answer that question. As a captain when your team loses your always accountable.
